This project was born when I started looking for something in my loft, I came across an old Aurora AFX slotcar set - the GX4000 - together with an
expansion track set - the Grand Prix 10 Extra Track Pack. These were bought for my son some 25 years ago (when he was six months old!) and had been extensively raced during school holidays for a number of years before
being consigned to the loft.
Remembering how much fun 1/64 scale racing was (big tracks in a small space), it started me thinking about building a semi-permanent track for myself, no more putting the track away after
a racing session.
After checking out the internet and gleaning much information it became obvious that there was still an active interest in this scale of racing, a number of sites I visited are in the links section.
I decided to built my first track for use over Xmas 2002 and that a small 2 lane racetrack would be fun to use and suit the limited space available.
In addition to having my own HO scale track at home I decided
that it would also be fun to get into a larger scale at a commercial track and decided that 1/24 scale NASCAR and GTP would probably offer the best racing and found a fairly local (56 miles round trip) track sited in
Ringwood, Hampshire, UK -
